Hi,

A point to note is that gbware 3.6 or 3.7 does not see sata drives in marginly
older dell pe750's <july2004>or sc1425's <feb2005>even on dell bios A04. Gta
support managed to get it running on a new 750. The installer cdrom only
brings up <???> on the menu....on where to install on....

On a 2 month old sc1425 I still cannot get to install on.
I got 5 new 750's today so i'll double check and post back.

Perhaps Ibm missing something.
Cheers
Eric

Thanks Chris,

Are you using an actual SATA drive in it or have you found a flash
module of some kind to connect to this? Specs don't seem to list
standard ATA for that model.

The 750 works fine with 3.6.2 and 3.7.0 from my testing. I have not
tried any earlier versions. We are using them at Lakewood with great
success. We chose to buy a second 750 to have as a cold/warm spare.

Anyone know of a good 1U rack server that is supported by the GBWare
software? I tried a Dell 1650, but unfortunately there isn't any IDE
support on this unit (it was a spare not purchased for this). The newer
750 supports SATA, does 3.70 support SATA? Site just indicates ATA.

I would like something with dual redundant power supplies, but it has to
be name brand for our purchasing dept to allow me to cut a purchase
order.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
