I have a residential DSL account with Bell Atlantic that uses WinPoET (I
believe a flavor of PPPoE) and dynamic addressing. Static addressing is
not yet available. I'm looking for a workaround that will let me use GB
Lite.

I tried connecting to the service w/o the firewall in place, noteing the
IP address, adding it to GB Lite and quickly 'sliding' the firewall into
the circuit. It didn't work but at least one reason is without DHCP set,
GB needs the default route (which I don't know). If I can get the
address of the downstream router from Bell Atlantic and set it as the
default route, will my scheme work? (provided I leave the connection up)

Is there a simpler work around for this situation? I would guess that
this will become a common problem (at least in Bell Atlantic terratory)
as more consumers subscribe to DSL.

Thanks for any help or suggections.......
